Pet Detective Colin Butcher lights up The London Book Fair

A heart-warming story about a pet detective and his rescue dog has been sold across Europe and the US.

Molly & Me (retitled Molly the Pet Detective Dog for the UK paperback) How One Man and his Dog Became a Crime-Solving Duo by Colin Butcher was sold in the US, in a six-figure pre-emptive offer to Celadon Books of Pan MacMillan. In the UK, his book was subject to an eight-way auction won by Imprint Michael Joseph of Penguin Random House.  Goldman won a five-way auction in Germany, while Sperling beat off four rivals in Italy.

Former police detective inspector Colin Butcher recruited a rescue dog to help track down missing cats for the heartbroken owners. His story has also been acquired by (WSOY) Finland, (Aschehoug), Norway and (House of Books) Sweden. His book is also expected to sell in Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil, Japan, and Russia.
